BRAND STORY
Every brand has its plot twist. Ours came in 2016.
We started playful and experimental - making sharp, fearless clothes for women who wanted to stand out in the city. Then, Lakmé Fashion Week paired us with Antcraft, a weaving cluster in Assam. What we thought would be “just another project” turned into something bigger. Seeing fabric come alive on the loom, thread by thread, changed how we saw fashion forever.
That’s when the shift happened. We decided slow fashion didn’t have to be safe or predictable. For us, it’s about giving age-old craft a bold, urban twist. Thinking heritage handloom, but making it unapologetically modern.
Today, Shoulder Lab is our playground where sustainability meets style, and where every piece carries the soul of the craftsperson who made it - without losing the edge.
We like to keep it conscious, yes. But also fun, fearless, and a little rebellious. Because sustainability isn’t just serious business - it can be cool, playful, and totally wearable.
Welcome to Shoulder Lab: where handwoven meets high energy.

ADITI HOLANI
Shoulder Lab was founded by Aditi Holani, an alumna of NIFT, India, and Central Saint Martins, London. She honed her craft under iconic designers including Alexander McQueen and Sophia Kokosalaki, before carving out her own voice in fashion.

Her debut came with the prestigious Gen-Next showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week, marking the start of a label that fuses sharp design instincts with a fearless, modern spirit.
